This detail shows the termination of a single wythe CMU wall into a wide flange steel column. The CMU is anchored to the web of the column with a wire anchor. The Backer rod and sealant are applied at both sides of the wall to function as a control joint between the CMU and the column. If fire-rated construction is desired, encapsulate the column in fireproofing (not shown).
