This detail shows 2 cm (3/4 in.) thick dimension stone anchored to an interior wall substrate with anchors of 8-gauge (0.1285”) copper or stainless steel wire ties encapsulated by molding plaster at the perimeter of each stone panel. The wire is fitted into slightly oversized holes in edges of the stone panels, with wood plugs filling the space around the wire. The wire anchors are sized and spaced per empirical design and are fastened to the concrete masonry backing via holes cut into the block, also filled with plaster or rapid-curing cementitious material. Joints between the panels may be finished with compatible sealant and backer rod (not shown for clarity).
