Total Masonry Design Software

Exciting new software that makes masonry even more versatile and easy to use is now available. It was developed by Bentley Systems, Inc. in collaboration with IMI, the National Concrete Masonry Association and Ryan Biggs Associates, a leading structural engineering firm.

The Software

The software uses a whole building approach that leads to easier and faster engineering design of masonry buildings, including irregular configurations, openings, multi-story structures and more.

System requirements [+/-]
  • PC compatible processor (Intel or AMD, 32 bit or 64 bit)
  • 1 GB of RAM (2 GB recommended)
  • Windows XP/Vista or higher
  • 180 MB required for installing the software
  • 2 GB available hard disk space required for analyzing models
  • Open GL compatible graphics card with at least 128 MB in video memory
  • 1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
  • Latest OS service packs and graphics card drivers always recommended
  • System printer correctly installed
  • To install the software, administrative rights are absolutely necessary

The Seminars

AIA Continuing EducationTo make it even easier, sponsors are conducting seminars all over the country. Really two seminars in one, they cover theory and design of hybrid masonry/steel structures and whole building analysis of loadbearing masonry, plus the software and tips for using it, and continuing education credits for both engineers and AIA members. Knowledge of FEM analysis  or RAM Advanse software is not necessary.
