Details 01.030.0303 and 01.030.0303.2D (Flexible Flashing, NO Drip Edge, Termination Bar, MDCD):
Metal drip edges are sometimes eliminated for aesthetic concerns, budgetary reasons, or in details that are less prone to water penetration such as stepped foundations, or in designs where finished grade is a minimum of 4” below the masonry veneer. If drip edges are eliminated, the flashing must terminate at the face of the veneer, be drool resistant and securely sealed and adhered to the foundation. Drip edges are recommended by industry organizations.
