This detail shows a low roof connected to a higher masonry wall. The masonry flashing and counterflashing is independent of the roof flashing system, so the roof can be replaced without disturbing the masonry. The roof structure bears on a masonry bond beam, part of the loadbearing masonry wall. The wall has a 2″ clear air space for drainage, and weep vents are spaced at 24″ o.c. There is an air/moisture/vapor barrier on the cavity side of the CMU, and 2″ rigid insulation resides in the drainage cavity.
